If you squinted your eyes while visiting the Pelindaba Lavender Fields, this is what you might see.
Teresa saw it through her artist eyes. Then painted this:
The dabs of dark purple, muted purple, pale purple are set against gold. But what is the gold? Is it the grass that grows between the rows? No, I think it is the way the sun is hitting the lavender plants. Then look way toward the background. There are the purple hills of San Juan Island. Feel the warmth of that afternoon. See how the sun is turning the clouds pale yellow and light pink.
The lavender smells wonderful.
Go ahead spread the blanket out. Let’s just take a rest and enjoy this.
